Connectivity celebrates the energy and movement at the heart of Oklahoma City’s historic Santa Fe Depot—now a vibrant intermodal hub where people and goods converge by rail, foot, trolley, bike, bus, and car. Positioned above the main entry doors, the sculpture acts as both beacon and metaphor for the countless intersecting paths and lives that pass through this Art Deco landmark.

Composed of hand-brushed stainless steel arcs and rings, the form suggests motion, expansion, and the layered complexity of transportation systems. Fused glass elements sparkle with color and transparency, allowing light to pass through and activate the surface from both front and back. The sculpture’s pierced shapes—drawn from the wheels, pistons, windows, and cowcatchers of transport past and present—connect the work organically to the architecture and its history.

Though simply lit, the sculpture responds dramatically to both natural and artificial light, creating changing highlights and shadows throughout the day and evening. It can be viewed from the interior lobby, from the street through the building’s large windows, and from the elevated train platform, where glimpses into the station frame the work from above.

Durable, symbolic, and site-specific, Connectivity expresses the timeless nature of movement and human connection in a space where past and future intersect.
