Cyclic Synergy

Commissioned by Oklahoma State University

Installed at the entrance to the Institute for Agricultural Biosciences Facility in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Cyclic Synergy is a sculptural tribute to the evolving history of agricultural experimentation in the state and the scientific innovation housed within the institute.

Six vertical stainless steel panels form a circular arrangement reminiscent of a cellular structure or molecular diagram, visible both as a sculptural presence from the ground and a scientific pattern from above. Each panel represents a stage in the agricultural timeline:

  • Sun — source of energy and life for all agricultural growth.

  • Seasons — early understanding of planting, harvest, and cycles of the natural world.

  • Settlers — arrival of farmers, seeds, tools, and evolving methods.

  • Study — agriculture as an academic discipline, formally recorded and researched.

  • Science — accelerated discovery and improved production through cellular-level experimentation.

  • Synthesis — integration of past and future knowledge with global impact.

Pierced and brushed surfaces interact with sunlight, weather, and movement, offering a dynamic visual experience from every approach.
